Chamorro U.S. Armed Forces Service Memorial
Details:
Next to the 247 Americans of Japanese Ancestry monument.
MonumentThe memorial comprises a granite monument engraved in Korean and English to remember Chamorro soldiers from Guam who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. The Chamorro (or Chamoru) are the indigenous people of the Mariana Islands, including the U.S. territory of Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Approximately 1,000 Guamanians served in the US military, and about 20 Chamorros died in Korea or remain unaccounted for.
There is an almost identical memorial in Guam located in Hagåtña, alongside Marine Corps Drive.
