Francisco Garrido Javier was born on November 3, 1930, in Agana Heights, Guam. He was the son of Ramona "Mona" Garrido Javier. He served in Company E, 2nd Battalion, 65th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, as a Corporal during the Korean War.
Cpl Javier was Killed in Action on June 14, 1953, in North Korea. He is now buried in the Guam Veterans Cemetery, Piti, Guam. His name is also commemorated on Guam’s Korean War Memorial in Hagåtña.
