Plaque
A rectangular black plaque commemorating the American liberators and liberation of Hohwarth and Alsace and honoring the efforts of the 103rd Infantry Division during World War II. The plaque features the division's insignia along with the names of the fallen soldiers. Hohwarth was liberated on November 28, 1944, and other towns in Alsace were freed during campaigns between late 1944 and early 1945. During the liberation of Hohwarth, 3 American soldiers were killed while in the broader liberation of Alsace, 10 soldiers were killed. The plaque was developed by Robert D. Quinn and was dedicated on May 20, 1994, as a tribute to those who gave their lives during the liberation efforts.
