Mounted on the retaining wall to the right of the entrance gate.
Plaque
A rectangular black plaque commemorating the American liberators and liberation of Uhrwiller and Alsace and honoring the efforts of the 103rd Infantry Division during World War II. Uhrwiller, liberated on March 15, 1945, and other towns in Alsace were freed during campaigns between late 1944 and early 1945. During the liberation of Uhrwiller, 2 American soldiers were killed while in the broader liberation of Alsace, 10 soldiers were killed. The plaque was developed by Robert D. Quinn and was dedicated on May 21, 1994, as a tribute to those who gave their lives during the liberation efforts.
