On the façade of the town hall, positioned at the lower center between the two windows adjacent to the doors on either side.

Plaque

A rectangular blue plaque commemorating the eight American soldiers from the 111th Engineer Combat Battalion, 36th Infantry Division, who lost their lives on August 25, 1944. The plaque is written in French and English and lists the names and ranks of the fallen soldiers, as well as the division’s insignia. The plaque was unveiled on August 25, 2024.

Monument Text:

Le 25 Août 1944 à Bonlieu-sur-Roubion,

huit soldats américains appartenant au 111e Bataillon de Combat du Génie, de la 36e Division d'Infanterie, ont donné leur vie pour la Liberté.

 

Leur sacrifice n'est pas oublié par ceux qui passent ici aujourd'hui.
