The memorial is a six-sided granite obelisk about 4 feet high with an inscribed plaque attached to the front.
The memorial remembers two soldiers of Company C, 48th Armored Infantry Battalion, 7th Armored Division who were killed on this spot during fierce fighting on October 24, 1944 during the “Battle of Overloon”. The soldiers were listed as missing in action. And their names listed on the Margraten American Cemetery and Memorial Wall of the Missing.
