George Renda was born on January 31, 1920 and was from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Renda served in Company C, 48th Armored Intatry Battlion of the 7th Amored Division. On October 5, 1944, he was killed along with his fellow soldier, PFC Aloysius Gonsowski.during the "Battle of Overloon". Both soldiers were originally listed as missing in action and listed on the Tablet of the Missing at the Margraten American Cemetery. In 1977, the bodies of both soldiers were discovered and their bodies repatriated to American cemeteries.
Renda is now buried in his hometown of Pittsburgh.
