Lieutenants Kater, Cornwell, and Beedle Memorial

Directly across from the town's large war memorial.
Monument
A stone monument that on its top are pictures of the three aviators honored: 2LT Lyle R. Kater, 1LT Ottaway B. Cornwell, and 2LT Harold Beedle, Jr. In the middle is the marble relief of a fighter jet. At the bottom is a dark stone plaque with French text which includes crossed American and French flags and the insignia of the 12th Air Force. The monument was inaugurated on 16 August 2018.

En l'honneur des trois jeunes pilotes de l'U.S. Air Force
quiont combattus dans le ciel de Pierrefue
le 27 janvier 1944,
donnant leur vie pour notre liberté.
La ville de Pierrefeu et ses habitants reconnaissants.
English translation:
In honor of the three young pilots of the US Air Force
who fought in the skies above Pierrefeu
on 27 January 1944
and gave their lives for our liberty.
The town of Pierrefeu and it's inhabitants are appreciative.
