First Division Monument (Soissons)

On the east side of the road a few hundred meters from the town limits. Monument
It honors by name all of the First Division soldiers killed in the area in WWI. Located in Buzancy, France it commemorates the Soissons campaign where 2, 213 First Division soldiers were killed and 6,347 wounded.

Second Battle of the Marne
In four days of continuous attack from the line Saint-Pierre L'Aigle-Cutry, the First Division AEF penetrated 11 kilometers into the German lines at this point, capturing by assault on the morning of July 21st the Chateau and heights of Buzancy and the village of Berzy-le-Sec.
