Lloyd Patrick �Jack� Wright was born on February 2, 1924, in Harleton, Harrison County, Texas. He was the son of Charles Wesley "Charlie" Wright and Etta Samanta Jones Wright. He was married to Pearl Louise Peek Wright. He entered the U.S. Army in 1943. He served in the United States Army with the 740th Tank Battalion in World War II. Known as the �Daredevil Tankers�, the 740th was a separate battalion that fought from Utah Beach all the way to the Baltic Sea in support of various divisions of the US war effort.

Following his military service, Lloyd worked as a farmer, a mechanic at Goodwin Chevrolet, and later as a millwright at Lone Star Steel. He died on November 30, 2021, and is now buried in the Eagle Creek Cemetery, Harleton, Harrison County, Texas, USA.
