Jesse Lee �Buddy� Wisdom Jr. was born on December 30, 1923, in Karnack, Harrison County, Texas. He was the son of Jessie Lee Wisdom and Harriett Cornelia "Hattie" Forbes Wisdom. He was married to Jackie Virginia Ponder Wisdom. He served in the United States Army with the 740th Tank Battalion in World War II. Known as the �Daredevil Tankers�, the 740th was a separate battalion that fought from Utah Beach all the way to the Baltic Sea in support of various divisions of the US war effort.

Jesse was a retired carpenter and died on August 28, 1993. He is now buried in the Oakwood Memorial Park, Jefferson, Marion County, Texas, USA.
