Clarence O. “Chigger” Webster was born on August 24, 1923, in Weston, Collin County, Texas. He was the son of Thomas William Webster and Lillie Ida Bourland Webster. He was married to Leona Venelle "Nell" Burnside Webster. He served in the United States Army with the 740th Tank Battalion in World War II. Known as the “Daredevil Tankers”, the 740th was a separate battalion that fought from Utah Beach all the way to the Baltic Sea in support of various divisions of the US war effort.
Clarence owned and operated a gas station in Celina, Texas, for over forty years. He died on May 21, 2017, and is now buried in the Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Collin County, Texas, USA.
