John Tullier was born on February 8, 1925. He was the son of Courtney Paul Tullier and Irma Hebert Tullier. He was married to Irma Gene Simpson Tullier. He served in the United States Army with the 740th Tank Battalion in World War II. Known as the “Daredevil Tankers”, the 740th was a separate battalion that fought from Utah Beach all the way to the Baltic Sea in support of various divisions of the US war effort.

PFC Tullier was a retired machinist with Kaiser Aluminum. He died on January 9, 2016, and is now buried in the Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Mausoleum, Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA.
