Manuel Floyd “M.F.” Hankins was born on May 6, 1924, in Holliday, Archer County, Texas. He was the son of Arnold “Red” and Tommie (Crumbley) Hankins. He was married to Elsie Lee McDonald Hankins. He worked as an assistant golf professional at Colonial Country Club. He served in the United States Army with the 740th Tank Battalion in World War II. Known as the “Daredevil Tankers”, the 740th was a separate battalion that fought from Utah Beach all the way to the Baltic Sea in support of various divisions of the US war effort.

After the war, Manuel began his ministry in Holliday and went on to pastor churches throughout the region. He also served in South America and traveled across Europe and Africa preaching the gospel. He died on March 26, 2018, and is now buried in the Crestview Memorial Park, Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, USA.
