A metal plaque honoring CPT Wilbur Nutting, killed near here during the liberation of the town on 17 Jan 45.  The plaque erroneously says that he was in the 28th Infantry Division, when he in fact served in Company B, 254th Infantry Regiment, 63rd Infantry Division.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:  Captain Wilbur Nutting Bridge, 28th American Infantry Division, killed on 17 January 1945 for the liberation of Sigolsheim.
