An inscribed B-24 propeller and an inscribed plaque; the items sit on a small altar along with other commemorative pieces.

The propeller memorial remembers one crewman, Upper Turret Gunner, Technical Sergeant Lewis Leedy, of the B-24 (42-109830) 'Daisy Mae Scraggs' of the 704th Bomber Squadron, 446th Bomb Group, who was killed when the plane crashed near these islands. The plaque 446th Bomber Group plaque remembers the local people who rescued the other crewman.  They aided the crewmen and hid them for almost a month until captured.

The 446th Bomb Group Association, organized to perpetuate the memoray of the 446th Bombardment Group (Heavy) assigned to the 8th Air Force in England from November 1943 to June 1945 resolved in its Annual Meeting in San Diego, California. U.S.A May 2003, to say thanks to those responsible for the memorial on this Isle of Chaussey with this plaque. This memorial honoring our fellow members and those who particiapted  in their rescue and this event was not in vain.
