On the south side of the road.
Monument
A hewn stone stele listing and commemorating the Royal Canadian Air Force crew members of the aircraft that crashed here in July 1944. All members were killed in the crash after being shot down during their mission to attack the railway tracks in Orleans, France.
The crew included one American (Sergeant Ralph F. Hillman) flying with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Sergeant Hillman is buried in nearby St. Cyr-en-Val Communal Cemetery.
