Museum

The D-Day Museum was the first museum established to commemorate the Normandy landings, opening in the years following the Second World War. The project was initiated by Raymond Triboulet, a former French Resistance member and minister under General Charles de Gaulle, and the museum was officially inaugurated on June 5, 1954, by French President René Coty. After serving millions of visitors for nearly seven decades, the original museum closed in 2022 and reopened in 2023 in a newly constructed facility designed to provide a more immersive interpretation of D-Day and the Mulberry B artificial harbor.
