2nd Lt. Harvie J. Arnold Monument
Details:
On the west side of the road.
An upright, headstone-style stele bearing a rectangular plaque that commemorates 2Lt Arnold. Printed on the plaque are a commemoration message, a P-51 Mustang, the insignias of the 8th Air Force and 4th Fighter Group, a photo of the aviator, and the logo of ABSA 1939-1945. The commemoration message is written in French. The monument was inaugurated on November 11, 2014.
2Lt Arnold’s plane, P-51 # 44-13307 ‘Butch’, crashed in La Dibois near the town of Baguer-Morvan after being shot down by a small arms fire.
