A tall grey granite obelisk commemorating by name all of the First Infantry Division soldiers killed while fighting in the area. The memorial commemorates the Division’s 314 dead between 25 July and 6 September 1944.
It is one of five similar World War 2 memorials placed across
Europe by the 1st Infantry Division.
