Frederick J. Beirlein was born in 1921. He attended public School 139, Cortelyou and Rugby Roads and, on his graduation from Brooklyn Boys Vocational School, he enlisted in the Army. Frederick served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on September 3, 1944 in France and is now buried in Epinal American Cemetery, Dinozé, France.
