In the fortress' museum.
A small stone plaque with red lettering commemorating Lt Joseph Kennedy, older brother of President John Kennedy, who died while on a mission to bomb this location, a V3 Gun Site, during WWII during Operation Anvil and Aphrodite.. He was killed along with his Co-Pilot , Navy Lieutenant Wilford J. Willy. Their aircraft, which was planned to be a flying drone, exploded shortly after take-off in England.
