1st Lt Gustavo Kotta, bombardier of the B-24 42-7581 “Devil Dream”, took off from Station 125, Bungay, UK on a bombing mission to La Rochelle. The plane was evacuated at 1210, the crew bailing out at 11000 feet. He landed safely around Chamouillac and escaped back to the UK through the Pyrénées/Spain/Gibraltar escape route, arriving back on April 17th 1944.
