Gordon Thomas Doel was born on September 29, 1926 in Maynard, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Job Uriah Doel and Mary Taylor Doel. Gordon served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the Company A, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on January 24, 1945 in Belgium at the age of 18 and is now buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA.
