A tall grey granite obelisk commemorating by name all of the First Infantry Division soldiers killed while fighting in the area. The memorial commemorates the 458 Big Red One soldiers killed between 16 December and 7 February 1944.


 It is one of five similar World War 2 memorials placed across Europe by the 1ID.
