Paul H. Powers was born on July 11, 1922. He was inducted into military service on December 4, 1942, at Fort Jackson, and later received training at Camp Philips, Kansas, and Fort Meade, Md. He left the US for overseas duty on November 3, 1943 where he joined the First Army as a Staff Sergeant. He was Killed in Action on January 16, 1945 in the European Theater at the age of 22 and is now buried in Sunset Memorial Park, Bennettsville, Marlboro County, South Carolina, USA.
