Walter Ellis Ratcliff was born on April 17, 1918 in Campbell County, Kentucky. He was the son of William Ratcliff and Valear J. Ratcliff. Walter served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on December 19, 1944 and is now buried in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville, Parke County, Indiana, USA.
