The site features two monuments commemorating General George S. Patton Jr. and the American soldiers who fought and were killed during the liberation of the town in World War II in August 1944.

The site is situated about 1.5 km north of Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry town hall, in Place du Général Patton, a small triangular square at the junction of Rue de la Libération and Rue Alfred Darroux.
