On the north side of Katterbach airfield, a small memorial park comprises a static display UH-1H Huey (71-20025 - nickname FREEDOM CITY in Berlin support unit markings) on a concrete slab, and three monuments dedicated to 12th Combat Aviation unit aircrews who died in operations and training during Operations IRAQI FREEDOM in Kuwait and ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan.

Katterbach Barracks is located 4 kilometers east of the town of Ansbach, 38 kilometers west-southwest of Nürnberg, and 170 kilometers north-northwest of Munich. Katterbach Barracks is a United States Army facility in Germany, the home to the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, V Corps and other units. The memorial site is within Katterbach Barracks and access requires a Military ID Card, or pre-visit coordination for all visitors without U.S. Military ID card.
