The site is located in the village of Macikai which is part of the town of Šilutės. Šilutė (German: Heydekrug) is a city in the south of the Klaipėda County in western Lithuania. The site is located about 4 kilometers from Šilutės center. The POW camp is known locally as Macikų koncentracijos stovykla.
