Description:
The site has several memorials commemorating Lieutenant Colonel Charles Timmes and the paratroopers of the 82nd US Airborne Division who participated in a battle near the area during World War II.

The site is situated about 1.3 km east of Amfreville town hall. On 1 January 2016, Amfreville was merged into the commune of Picauville. The memorial site is along the Rte du Tiers road.
