The site is located at a cemetery in Kawkinge, Shepway District, Kent in the UK. The site is located outside the city of Folkstowne. Formerly known as Folkestone New Cemetery, Hawkinge is now the main cemetery for the Shepway area. It is close to the site of an aerodrome of strategic importance in WW2 which was used as a refuelling base for operations in France and the evacuation from Dunkirk in 1940.
