Signy Signets -Perreuse Chateau Franco British National Cemetery

Description:

The Perreuse Chateau was used by French medical units throughout the First World War and the site of the cemetery was presented by the owner, Mme. Dumez, to the French Government. All the burials were brought in from the battlefields in the area. Today it is the final resting place of French and British soldiers and includes a memorial to an American hospital and two Isolated American burials (ISOBs) from WW1.

A Commonwealth Grave Cemetery (CWGC). This cemetery is situated within the grounds of the Chateau of Perreuse, Signy Pereuse, a hamlet of Signy-Signets, which is 7 kilometres south-west of the town of La Ferte Sous-Jouarre, and 60 kilometres east of Paris approximately 9 kilometres from the A4 motorway. From [D21] head south on Rue de la Dhuis. Turn left on Rue de Perreuse and turn right on an unnamed road 700m down. The cemetery will be at the end of this road.
