Address:

, , Paju , , , South Korea

Panmunjom, also known as Panmunjeom, now located in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea or Kaesong, North Hwanghae Province, North Korea, was a village just north of the de facto border between North and South Korea. Its name is often used as a metonym for the nearby Joint Security Area (JSA), in the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), where discussions between North and South Korea still take place in blue buildings that straddle the Military Demarcation Line. The Military Demarcation Line was not enforced in the JSA prior to the Korean Axe Murder incident. The memorial site is located just about 400m west of the ‘House of Peace’ building, near the Bridge of No Return and United Nations Checkpoint (CP3). The location is accessed only by an escort of military personnel.
