The site contains a set of three memorials set into a low brick wall on the west garden beside the Honington Camp Post Office, commemorating the 1st Scouting Force, 364th Fighter Group, and the 1st Strategic Air Depot who served in the airfield during World War II.

Royal Air Force Honington or more simply RAF Honington (IATA: BEQ, ICAO: EGXH) is located 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Thetford near Ixworth. The memorial is placed within the main gate that is situated along Green Lane, 350 meters west from the lane intersection with Heath Road. This site is about 2.5 km west of the Honington village center.
