The site includes two sites: a monument that remembers the WW2 Operation Balchen (Operation Where and When); the second site is a museum mainly about F 21 Norrbotten Wing aircraft and Operation Balchen.

The sites are located opposite the Luleå Airport; follow signs to the F 21 Norrbotten Flygflottilj (Wing). It is located about 7 km south-southeast of Luleå, Sweden, near the village of Kallax. Luleå is the capital of the most northern county in Sweden, Norrbotten County. The Swedish Air Force Norrbotten Wing (F 21) is located beside the civilian Luleå Airport and there is no access between them. The museum has access from outside the gate; check website for opening hours. Access to the monument requires special permission.
