Description:

From 1944 to 1948, the 61 American servicemembers and one American civilian who had died in Switzerland were buried in American's temporary cemetery in Münsingen, Switzerland. The American Cemetery of Münsingen was closed in 1948. The remains were disinterred and repatriated to the USA, except for the fifteen that are buried at the Epinal American Cemetery in Dinozé, France. Today, a plaque on a stone wall commemorates the Americans that had been buried there.
