Avranches - Patton Square
Description:
A roundabout contains a monument, a tank and several smaller memorials with specific tribute to General Patton. The memorial celebrates the liberation of Avranches from the Germans on 31st of July 1944. General Patton then led a two pronged "breakout" into Brittany and the Loire Valley which significantly assisted the liberation of France.
