Loiano is a town Metropolitan City of Bologna in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy in the Tusco-Emilian Apennines at 714 meters (2,343 ft) above sea level. Highway SS 65 (through the Futa Pass) connects it to Bologna, 35 kilometers (22 mi) to the north, and Florence, 73 kilometers (45 mi) to the south. The site is near the center of the long town in a small roadside park under a canopy of pine trees. The park lies between two streets.
