The site includes a Philippine Historic Marker remembering the famous Cabanatuan Raid (Camp Pangatian) a combined operation of US Army units and Filipino irregular forces to liberate the POW Camp in 1945.

The site is located next to the next to the American Cabanatuan American Memorial administered by the American Battle Monument Commission. The Cabanatuan Memorial is about 4.5 miles northeast of Cabanatuan City, situated on the south side of Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road. It is 85 miles north of Manila. Cabanatuan, officially the City of Cabanatuan or simply Cabanatuan City is a 1st class city in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines.
