The site is located on the side of Monte Zoncolan (1,750 m) in the Carnia area of the region of Friuli Venezia Guilia, in the northeast corner of Italy. Monte Zoncolan is in the Carnic Alps and the road SP 123 (Liariis-Monte Zoncolan Road) is known for being one of the most demanding climbs in professional road bike races, particularly, the Giro d’Italia. The site is located about 20 kilometers from the city of Tolmezzo. From Liariis, take SP 123 (Liariis-Monte Zoncolan Road) for about 2 kilometers and find an unpaved forest road on the right. (See Map on B-25 “Pretzel” Memorial). Follow forest road until it ends and then a short trail walk to the wooded site on the left side of the Riù Piçul stream bed. The site is located at 1240 meters in altitude. This site is difficult to find as it is in a remote location.
