Fossalta di Piave –Piave River Site
Description:
The site is located adjacent to a walkway on the levee of the Piave River, behind an Italian Monument “Battisero della Pace” dedicated to the memory of the “Ragazzi of ’99” (The Boys of ’99- which commemorates the Italian soldiers born in 1899 who were thrown into the Piave defense at a young age in 1917/18).

The site is located on the levee of the Piave River –the “Sacred Piave” where the Italian Army stopped the Austro-German attack in November 1917- in the town of Fossalta di Piave. Fossalta di Piave is just off the Autostrada A4 east of Venice (Venezia). From the town center, the main road –SP 48- runs to the Piave river where the site is located. The site is also accessible along a bikeway/walkway which follows the Piave River along the levee.
