When Morrill Bennett Jackson was born on January 31, 1897, in Jackson, Kansas, his father, James, was 28 and his mother, Juneta, was 19. He had one brother and one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in Company A, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 19, 1918 at the age of 21 in France and is now buried in Roselawn Cemetery, Calico Rock, Izard County, Arkansas, USA. His headstone shows he is a Private.
