William F. Faulstick was born on May 5, 1900 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. He was the son of John H. and Rose Faulstick. He had 3 siblings. Before entering the service, he was employed at the NCR. He attended St. Mary's College and for a time was office boy for The Dayton News. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company B, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He join the Army on April 2, 1917 and was deployed to the war zone on June 12, 1917. He died from his wounds received in battle on August 31, 1918 at the age of 18 and is now buried in Calvary Cemetery, Kettering, Montgomery County, Ohio, USA. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument in Company C.
