When (Richard) Harry McKinney and his twin brother Harvey were born on May 24, 1895, in Wisconsin, their father, Frank, was 25, and their mother, Sarah, was 30. He had one son and one daughter with Margaretta M. Allerton between 1914 and 1917. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in Company A, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on May 21, 1918 and is now buried in Somme American Cemetery, Bony, France.
