When James Casper Holland was born on October 13, 1898, in Carroll, Georgia, his father, James, was 37 and his mother, Sarah, was 28. He had three brothers and five sisters. He enlisted in the Army on April 10, 1917. Embarked for overseas on June 7, 1917. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Supply Company, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on October 13, 1898 and is now buried in Carrollton City Cemetery, Carrollton, Carroll County, Georgia, USA.
