When Ira Archibald "Archie" Hawley was born on June 4, 1893, in Idaho, his father, Nirom, was 50 and his mother, Martha, was 27. He had one brother and one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company B, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on May 28, 1918 and is now buried in Moscow Cemetery, Moscow, Latah County, Idaho, USA.
