When Clemmie Atkinson was born on November 27, 1894, in Sebastian, Arkansas, his father, James, was 46 and his mother, Eliza, was 39. He had two brothers and two sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on May 6, 1918 and is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
