When Clifford J. Campbell was born on January 1, 1915, in Omaha, Nebraska, his father, Roy, was 35 and his mother, Daisy, was 33. He married Margaret Mary Heafey on January 15, 1943, in Bradford, Florida. They had three children during their marriage.

He served in the U.S. Army during Normandy Invasion of World War II as a Technician Fourth Grade in S-2 section of 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He entered the service in Nebraska. He died on August 1984 and is now buried in Calvary Cemetery, Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, USA.
