Joseph E. Lake was born on 1919, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl O. Lake. He enlisted into the air corps in January, 1942. He had been based in England as pilot of a P-51 Mustang Fighter Plane with the Eighth Air Force. Killed in action on April 16, 1945 over Germany, he is now buried in Elm Ridge Memorial Park, Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana, USA.
